Pro-Baghdad troops took less than 24 hours to win control of the disputed city. Despite some clashes, the Kurdish Peshmerga offered little resistance and withdrew from a number of key locations. Also, the former IS stronghold of Raqqa in Syria is said to haven fallen after hundreds of its fighters fled, and after a change of policy North Koreans are allowed to gamble.
