Angela Merkel Wins a Fourth Term

The authority of the German chancellor has been weakened after a dramatic loss of support for her centre-right alliance in elections, and the success of the anti-immigrant party, Alternative for Germany, which has won seats in the federal parliament. Also: the US travel ban which affected mainly Muslim countries has been widened to include North Korea and Venezuela, and more American football players defy President Trump.
