Somalia Blast

BBC OS gives a vibrant account of the day’s events with explanation and reaction from those involved.

At least 276 people are now known to have died in a massive bomb attack in a busy area of the Somali capital Mogadishu on Saturday. Our colleagues from the BBC Somali language service will join us to give us an update on the deadliest terror attack in Somalia since the Islamist al-Shabab group launched its insurgency in 2007.

We'll have the latest on the situation in Kirkuk, where Iraqi government forces have captured key sites from Kurdish fighters.

And who is Sebastian Kurz? We'll be finding out more about the 31-year-old leader of Austria's conservative People's Party, set to win the country's general election according to projections.
