
French Government Unveils Controversial Labour Reforms
A key test for Emmanuel Macron's presidency: overhauling the country's complex labour code.
An overhaul of France's complex labour laws is set to be one of the key tests of Emmanuel Macron's presidency. The French government has set out its policy proposals and - while previous attempts to change the labour code faced strikes and street protests - so far only one major union has said it will call a strike over the plans.
