Global Pledge To End Cholera By 2030

Health officials commit to preventing 90% of cholera deaths by 2030.

It's the first time governments, the World Health Organisation, aid agencies and donors have made a pledge to combat cholera. The disease, which is spread through contaminated water, kills about 100,000 people every year mainly in Africa and Asia.

Police in Las Vegas say the man who killed fifty-eight people in a mass shooting on Sunday, Stephen Paddock, made elaborate preparations. US media say his girlfriend, Marilou Danley, is now in police custody, after flying into Los Angeles from the Philippines.

And the severed head of a philosopher who died over 200 years ago goes on public display.
