Trump: consequences of a rapid Afghanistan exit 'unacceptable'
President Donald Trump has said a hasty US withdrawal from Afghanistan would leave a vacuum for terrorists to fill. He said his original instinct was to pull US forces out, but he now wanted to avoid the mistakes made in Iraq.
Chile's constitutional court has voted to approve a bill to ease the country's total ban on abortions. It ruled that terminations are justified after rape, if the mother's life is at risk or if the foetus is not expected to survive the pregnancy. The law was approved after two years' debate in the Chilean Congress but had been challenged by conservatives.
St Helena, a small island in the South Atlantic, enjoyed a big moment yesterday (Monday) when the first commercial flight from Johannesburg landed at it's newly created airport. The flight itself only took 6 hours in total, but was a lot longer in the making. The opening of the airport was delayed indefinitely last year due to high winds. Until now, the airport has only been accessible by boat.
