Iranian writer Mahsa Mohebali: "I hope this war ends very soon"
One of Iran’s most prominent contemporary writers and literary critics, Mahsa Moebali, reflects on three weeks of war in an interview with Weekend's Celia Hatton.Her novels, translated into many languages, include Don't Worry, Tehran Girl and Teheran Trip, focus on her country's social crises. Having spent most of her career under pressure and surveillance from Iranian security forces. She was arrested and sentenced to forced labour for "acting against the regime" in 2022 just as the Women Life Freedom movement was taking hold in the country. Since January she's been living in exile in Spain.
