The Iraqi women upending the world of online gaming
Countless studies have shown that the online gaming landscape is not welcoming to women. More than half of female gamers say they hide their gender for fear of harrassment or ridicule by male gamers. IQGG - Iraqi Gamer Girls - is a digital collective aiming to change that narrative and make gaming inclusive for all. Co-founders Asra and Mariam, as well as member Emma, explain what the community means to them.
