'Venezuela Is Sliding Towards Dictatorship' Warns The US
President Maduro has celebrated Sunday's vote on a constituent assembly
Authorities in Venezuela says the controversial election for a constituent assembly has been a success. President Nicolas Maduro has called the vote the "biggest ever vote for the revolution", and the United States warned that Venezuela was sliding towards dictatorship.
The Russian President Vladimir Putin has announced that 755 staff must leave US diplomatic missions by the first of september, in retaliation for new US sanctions against Moscow.
And we go to Belgium where ceremonies are taking place to mark 100 years since allied troops near the town of Ypres began one of the bloodiest offensives of the First World War.
