Rallies in Turkey, a year after coup attempt; black art at the Tate; Mosul after IS

The Turkish president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, has addressed rallies of thousands of supporters in Ankara and Istanbul on the first anniversary of a foiled military coup; a big new art show at the Tate Modern in London features 160 works by black American artists from the two decades beginning in 1963; human rights organisations say the US-led coalition may have committed war crimes in Mosul.
