President Trump says he didn't know anything about the meeting
President Donald Trump says he did not know that his eldest son met a Russian lawyer after the Kremlin-linked official claimed to have damaging information about his election opponent, Hillary Clinton.
The Iraqi prime minister, Haider al-Abadi, has visited Mosul to congratulate troops on what he described as the "liberation" of the city from the Islamic State group. But he didn't make a formal declaration of victory, saying that would be done when the final pockets of resistance were cleared.
The head of the electoral commission in the Democratic Republic of Congo has been criticised for saying that presidential elections probably won't be possible this year. The country's main opposition leader tweeted that the statement amounted to a declaration of war on the Congolese people.
