Islamic State destroy the distinctive Great al-Nuri Mosque in Mosul
So-called Islamic State (IS) have destroyed the distinctive Great al-Nuri Mosque, a famous landmark of the city of Mosul. Iraqi Army-led forces have been trying to push IS militia out of the city for several months. Just a few hundred IS fighters remain, holed up in the narrow streets of the old city
