US: Cross Party Agreement on Appointment of Former FBI Chief

Robert Mueller will lead investigation into alleged Russian election interference

Robert Mueller will oversee a special investigation into Russia's alleged interference in last year's US presidential election. There had been calls for an independent inquiry after President Donald Trump fired the most recent FBI director, James Comey, last week.

Also in the programme, Brazil's president, Michel Temer is under pressure after a newspaper report claimed he approved payments to silence a possible witness in a corruption inquiry. He's denied it, we'll hear from our correspondent and listeners in Brazil.

We get reaction to the acquittal of police officer, Betty Shelby, who shot and killed Terrence Crutcher, an unarmed black man in Oklahoma last year.

And the cost of love? For Japan's Princess Mako, it's her royal status.
