South Koreans are voting for a new president, to replace the impeached Park Geun-hye

South Koreans are voting for a new president, to replace the conservative Park Geun-hye, who was impeached and arrested over allegations of fraud. The liberal candidate, Moon Jae-in, who has been leading in opinion polls, has campaigned against the perceived privilege of South Korea's elite.

Barack Obama warned newly elected President Donald Trump against hiring Michael Flynn as national security adviser, the White House has confirmed. Mr Obama warned his successor less than 48 hours after the November election during a conversation in the Oval Office, former Obama officials said.

A murder trial in the small rural town of Coligny in North West South Africa has exposed deep divisions in the community. The release on bail of two white farmworkers accused of killing a black teenager sparked a violent reaction in the town yesterday morning, and there are fears that the disturbances could continue.
