French presidential election: Macron the favourite

Emmanuel Macron, the centrist candidate for the French presidency, has cemented his position as favourite after a quarrelsome TV debate with his nationalist rival, Marine Le Pen.

A strong performance in the final televised debate has confirmed Emmanuel Macron's position as favourite for Sunday's French presidential election.
