British MPs to Approve Early General Election
The call for a vote needs the backing of two-thirds of the parliament
Parliamentarians in Britain are set to vote in favour of a snap poll on 8 June. The vote was announced by Prime Minister Theresa May saying it was the only way to guarantee stability as the country negotiates its withdrawal from the European Union.
Voters in the Indonesian capital Jakarta have cast their ballots to choose a new city governor amid increasing religious tensions.
