US Tragets IS in Afghanistan Strike

The US military says it has dropped a 21,600lb (9,800kg) bomb on a tunnel complex used by Islamic State militants in Afghanistan. The GBU-43/B Massive Ordnance Air Blast Bomb (MOAB), known as "the mother of all bombs", is the largest non-nuclear bomb ever used by the US in a conflict.

The Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has said reports that his forces carried out a deadly chemical attack earlier this month are one hundred per cent fabrication. Mr Assad told the French news agency AFP that western nations had invented the claims so they had an excuse to bomb a government airbase.

An eight-year old boy in Ohio safely drove his little sister to McDonald's after learning to drive from YouTube, local news report. Ohio's Morning Journal said police received calls from residents about a child driving through town.
