Who Was Behind Syrian 'Chemical Attack'?

The White House is "confident" Syrian government was behind an apparent chemical attack.

The White House says it is "confident" Bashar al-Assad's government was behind an apparent chemical attack that killed at least 58 people in north-west Syria. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that strikes on Khan Sheikhoun by Syrian government or Russian jets had caused many people to choke.

North Korea has fired a ballistic missile from its eastern port of Sinpo into the Sea of Japan. It is the latest in a series of tests which the North says is peaceful but the West fears is part of a programme to develop nuclear weapons.

The political pressure on the South African President, Jacob Zuma, continues to increase. Calls for him to step down have increased, as the powerful trade union federation Cosatu has now withdrawn their support for him.
