Cyclone Debbie Reaches Mainland Australia
Thousands of residents have been evacuated from coastal towns
Cyclone Debbie has made landfall on the northeast coast of Australia, bringing rain and winds of up to two-hundred-and-seventy-kilometres an hour. Local authorities say the eye of the storm has hit the mainland between the town of Bowen and Airlie Beach, after battering islands off the coast.
