Russia: Anti-corruption Protests Bring Thousands Into Streets

Washington says the move is an affront to democratic values

The United States has condemned the arrests of hundreds of protesters in Russia, who had been taking part in anti-corruption demonstrations. Washington also said it was troubled that the opposition leader Alexei Navalny had been detained. He's due in court today.
