The inquiry also covers abuse at non-religious institutions, but two-thirds of cases concerned the Catholic Church. Powerful Catholic officials are due to give evidence to the Royal Commission inquiry which has identified nearly four-and-a-half thousand victims since nineteen-eighty alone.
