The British Supreme court rules that the government must have approval from parliament before it can start Brexit process, Syrian peace talks in Kazakhstan end.

The British Supreme court rules that the government must have approval from parliament before it can trigger Article 50 - the formal process for the country to start exiting the EU. In Kazakhstan peace talks on Syria have come to an end. It was hoped the negotiations between the Syrian government and rebel groups would reinforce a fragile cessation of hostilities in the country's six-year-long civil war.
