Gambian President-elect Adama Barrow has called for "direct talks" with Yahya Jammeh

In an interview with BBC Newsday, the president-elect of Gambia, Adama Barrow, has said he's available for direct talks with Yahya Jammeh. The outgoing president is refusing to go and has taken his case to the country's Supreme Court which says it won't make a ruling until until May.

Later today, the US government is due to announce an easing of some of the financial sanctions against Sudan. The east African country is on America's list of state sponsors of terrorism.
