Italy's Renzi Resigns 'With Lump in His Throat'

The Italian prime minister has resigned after suffering a heavy defeat in a referendum.

A clear majority of Italian voters have taken to the polls to reject their government's plans to change the country's constitution. As a result, Prime Minister Matteo Renzi has announced his resignation and the euro has fallen.
