Colombia leader tries to save peace deal; US halts Russia talks; Japan hospital deaths.

The Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos has appointed a team of senior advisers to try to salvage a peace deal rejected by voters. Relations between the United States and Russia worsen with Washington breaking off co-operation over Syria. Police in Japan are investigating the deaths of two elderly patients at a hospital near Tokyo after it is revealed they were poisoned. There have been 46 deaths on the same floor of the hospital in the last three months.
