Dr Tariq Qureshi is a Kashmiri treating those injured in the area's recent unrest. The eye surgeon from Srinagar has battled exhaustion to treat hundreds of devastating injuries in what he has called "the year of the dead eyes".
Thorsten Moewes is a cleaning expert based in Germany. He travels the world looking for landmarks in need of a spring clean and has worked on some of the most famous monuments in the world.
Bernie Krause is a "soundscape ecologist". He has recorded the natural sounds of more than two thousand habitats around the world - from the Sumatran rainforest to the Sierra Nevada mountains. In the 1960s he was one of the pioneer performers of the Moog synthesiser.
