Syrian Red Crescent Aid Trucks Attacked
Syrian ceasefire ends; Devastating fires at Greek refugee camp; Syrian children's author
The week-old truce in Syria has ended. Parts of Aleppo are already under attack and a Red Crescent aid convoy has been hit by an airstrike.
Thousands of people have been forced to flee the Moria refugee camp on the Greek island of Lesbos, after fires swept through the camp. Fighting between different national groups within the camp is believed to be the cause of the blaze. Reports indicate that between three and four thousand people have been left without shelter.
Nadine Kaadan has been writing and illustrating since the age of eight. Now more than 20 years later, and with more than a dozen children's books in Arabic to her name, the Syrian author has just had her first story in the English language published. Titled 'Tomorrow' and set in war torn Syria. Kaadan hopes her stories will help Syrian children make sense of the war.
