
Syria Waits for Aid to Flow
Syria ceasefire; Athletics hacked; Libra hindsight
Aid trucks are waiting to deliver supplies to besieged Syrians amid a nationwide ceasefire that largely appears to be holding on its first full day, the UN says. It is hoped that emergency aid deliveries will start on Wednesday.
The World Anti-Doping Agency (Wada) has condemned Russian hackers for leaking confidential medical files of star US Olympic athletes. Athletes affected include tennis players Venus and Serena Williams and teenage gymnast Simone Biles.
In the United Kingdom, lawmakers on the Foreign Affairs Select Committee have strongly criticised Britain's military intervention in Libya in 2011, which led to the downfall of Colonel Gaddafi. They single out former Prime Minister, David Cameron for the lack of a coherent strategy that, they say, led to the instability that followed.
