United Nations aid co-ordinator, Stephen O'Brien, has delivered an impassioned warning that the situation in the embattled Syrian city of Aleppo risks becoming an "unparalleled humanitarian catastrophe".

The French interior minister has announced that a new foundation for monitoring the funding of Imams and the origins of their training will be set up.
