Anger over Trump Gun Rights Remarks

The US Republican presidential candidate, Donald Trump, has sought to clarify controversial remarks which his Democrat opponents said had amounted to an incitement to violence against Hillary Clinton. Mr Trump had urged supporters of gun ownership to prevent Mrs Clinton from abolishing their constitutional right.

Hundreds of people have been forced to leave their homes as dozens of wildfires rage across the Portuguese mainland and on the island of Madeira. The fires follow weeks of dry weather, but have also been blamed on bad forest management.
