How the Panama Canal works
How does the Panama Canal move mega-ships 26 metres uphill? Chief Engineer of the Panama Canal expansion project, Ilya Espino de Marotta, explains during The Engineers. This was recorded at a special event held in collaboration with the Royal Commission of 1851 at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. The expansion of the Panama Canal opens in June 2016.
