Venezuela crisis; Tanzania elephant poaching; Swiss village says no to refugees
The Venezuelan president Nicolas Maduro has lambasted the head of the Organisation of American States after he initiated moves that could lead to the suspension of Venezuela from the regional grouping. A game reserve in Tanzania, which has lost 90% of its elephants in the last 40 years, could see its remaining herd wiped out by poachers in the next six years according to a report from the WWF. Oberwil-Lieli in Switzerland, one of Europe's wealthiest villages, has decided it is better to pay a nearly $400,000 fine than to accept around 10 refugees under Switzerland's newly imposed quota.
