The chief negotiator of Syria's main opposition grouping has resigned over what he called the failure of peace talks designed to end five years of civil war.

Saudi Arabia has hit back at Iran following its announcement that Iranian citizens will not go to Mecca this year to perform Hajj, the Muslim pilgrimage.

Baking soda is marvellous stuff - you can brush your teeth, shampoo your hair, or settle your stomach with it. And now scientists say they can use it to curb carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.
