DPRK holds most important political event in decades; Venezuela crisis; Nigeria death sentence

North Korea is holding the first Congress of the ruling Workers party since 1980. It's being seen as an effort by the leader Kim Jong-un to cement his status and chart a vision for the future. And they've even invited Western journalists to visit the capital Pyongyang! Our correspondent Steve Evans reports live from there.

There is a political crisis in a South American nation... But this time we are not talking about Brazil - it's Venezuela. The country faces economic difficulties and there have been attempts to remove President Maduro through political means.

And is the death sentence a good solution to Nigeria's problem with a growing number of kidnappings?
