Widespread Criticism of Airstrike on Syrian Refugee Camp
Deadly strike on Syrian refugee camp; Rare congress in North Korea; South Africa protests
A senior United Nations official says an air strike on a Syrian refugee camp, which is feared to have killed at least thirty people, could amount to a war crime. The UN's humanitarian affairs chief, Stephen O'Brien, has called for an investigation into the attack, in Idlib province, near the Turkish border.
The first full congress of North Korea's ruling Workers' Party for thirty-six years is getting underway in Pyongyang. The first day of the gathering, which is set to last four days, is expected to be dominated by a speech by the country's leader, Kim Jong-un.
Protesters have continued to set fire to schools in two areas in South Africa's northern Limpopo province in a dispute over district boundaries. So far at least 22 have been set alight, several in the past 24 hours.
