President Obama has called his visit to Cuba a historic opportunity. It's the first by an American leader for eighty-eight years and Mr Obama has promised to raise the issues of political freedom and human rights in talks with Raul Castro later today.

All across Africa, governments are struggling to connect all of their people to basic and reliable electrical services. Today a team from Newsday is looking at the way it impacts every area of life, from a school in Milonde in south-east Malawi.
