US Republican presidential hopefuls have held their final TV debate before the primaries without the front-runner, Donald Trump, who boycotted the event.
Japan's central bank has announced a policy of negative interest rates in an effort to boost growth.
The Brazilian president has urged the whole of society to join the battle against the Zika virus, which has been linked to birth defects.
