The president of the organisation that awards the Oscars has acknowledged the need for change, following outrage at the lack of diversity in this year's list of nominees. The former president of the Maldives, Mohamed Nasheed, is on his way to Britain to receive urgent medical treatment during his 13-year sentence for terrorism. He has promised to return.
