New Ebola Case Reported in Northern Sierra Leone

Officials say dead patient tested positive; Athletics Doping Scandal; Nigeria's first coup

Just hours after the World Health Organisation declared the Ebola epidemic in West Africa over, officials in Sierra Leone have said they are investigating a possible case of the disease. Health officials told the BBC that a patient who died in the northern district Tonkolili had tested positive for Ebola.

The head of world athletics, Sebastian Coe, says the sport's governing body faces a long road before it will be trusted again. He described the problems besetting the IAAF as a horror show.

On 15 January 1966 a small group of Nigerian army officers launched a bloody coup against the civilian government. It marked the start of the military's involvement in Nigerian politics which would last for decades and set Nigeria on a path to civil war.
