Saudi Arabia says it has broken off diplomatic ties with Iran, amid a row over the Saudi execution of a prominent Shia Muslim cleric.
A Hong Kong bookseller who went missing several days ago is thought to be in detention in mainland China.
Vast numbers of migrants and refugees made their way to Europe in 2015, sparking a crisis as countries struggle to cope with the influx. Volker Turk is assistant high commissioner for protection with the UN Refugees Agency.
