A visit to the Old City of Homs in Syria

Syrian opposition groups meeting; Postcard from smoggy Beijing; Independence day in Tanzania

The BBC's Chief International Correspondent Lyse Doucet reports from the city of Homs in Syria. Meanwhile the Syrian armed and political opposition groups are meeting in Saudi Arabia to find a path towards peace in their country.

We hear a postcard from Beijing, a city shrouded under smog and on red alert because of its high levels of pollution.

And it's Independence Day in Tanzania but the President has cancelled all the celebrations as part of his campaign against wasteful spending.
