Meanwhile the Syrian armed and political opposition groups are meeting in Saudi Arabia to find a path towards peace in their country.

In Burundi's capital Bujumbura, there are shootings and explosions almost every night. Adama Dieng is the U.N. special adviser on the prevention of genocide and talks to Newsday about the situation in the East African country.
