Islamic State Mounts an Assault in Iraq

Three towns near Mosul under attack; Obama's foreign policy assessment; Referendum in Rwanda.

Mark Odom, a US general in Iraq says hundreds of IS militants attacked three towns north and east of Mosul on Wednesday. They were repelled by Kurdish forces and coalition air strikes.

Julian Keane is live in Irvine, California discussing President Obama's foreign policy with a group of Iranian-Americans. They are talking Cuba, Syria and a lot more.

And polling stations open this morning across Rwanda, as people cast their ballots in a referendum that could allow President Paul Kagame to run for a third term.
