For years the Anglican Communion has been gazing at its own navel - preoccupied with issues of sexuality and the growing rift between the liberal and conservative wings of the church. But all the while the Anglican faithful, along with other Christians have been living with persecution in countries as far afield as Syria, Sudan and Nigeria.
