Attacks on Turkmen Positions; Criticism of WHO Ebola Response; Pope Francis in Kenya

Russian and Syrian Government forces attacked Turkmen rebel positions near Latakia on Tuesday. Jamal Mamo, is a journalist and member of the National Turkmen Movement who is in Istanbul, and has been in contact with people in the affected area.

Following the much criticised response by the World Health Organisation to the recent Ebola outbreak in Africa, the organisation appointed a new head of its Africa Operations in January to revamp the agency in the continent. Botswana's Dr. Matshidiso Moeti was tasked to make her agency more transparent and better prepared for any public health crises in the future. So nearly a year in the job, Dr Moeti has come up with a plan called "transformation agenda". Dr Matshidiso Moeti joins us from Chad.

Pope Francis is in Kenya, on the first leg of a three-nation African tour. Our correspondent Anne Soy is following his first visit to the continent as pontiff.
