Restrictions in North Korea

Did government supervision of BBC journalists in North Korea place restrictions on the coverage? And listeners welcome what they see as an underrated musical genre to the network.

Journalists from the BBC World Service were recently invited to witness and report on the 70th anniversary celebrations of the North Korea’s Workers’ Party. Jo Floto – the Asian Bureau Chief – explains the values of this coverage beyond the unique circumstances.

And after last week’s announcement of three new music programmes on the network – the global audience share their appreciation for what in their eyes is an underrated genre of music.
