No Agreement Yet on Relocating 121,000 Refugees

No deal on migrants, Somaliland kid makes it to Harvard, The world largest artificial wave.

EU ministers, meeting in Brussels, have failed to reach unanimous agreement on a controversial plan to relocate 121,000 migrants with binding quotas for individual member states. Some eastern European countries have argued that quotas will simply encourage more people to embark upon risky journeys to Europe.

Thousands of students will be starting their studies at Harvard this month and amongst them will be Abdisamad Adan - a student who has made an extraordinary journey from the self-declared republic of Somaliland. Despite the hardships he faced, he still performed superbly at school that he succeeded in getting into Harvard. Abdisamad speaks to Newsday.

Scientists in the Netherlands have built a machine that creates the world's largest artificial wave. They say replicating the sea at its most treacherous will help them develop new flood defence technology. Rebecca Morelle has been given exclusive access to the facility.
