
Hundreds of Migrants Are Still Stranded in Serbia
Migrants stranded in Serbia; Exploring 'No Man's Lands'; Rwanda at New York Fashion Week.
Large crowds of migrants are at the Serbian border with Hungary, after the Hungarian authorities closed off unofficial crossing points. Thousands of people had been making the journey every day, trying to enter the European Union and many migrants have expressed frustration that their way is now blocked. The Serbian interior minister, Nebojsa Stefanovic visited the border and promised to help refugees.
A British expedition is travelling across Europe and into North Africa to explore the concept of 'No Man's Lands', and to show that these ideas are as relevant today as they have always been. The team of academics from Royal Hollway University London and Durham University will be travelling 6,000 miles.
Rwandan Genocide Survivors debut Africa-Inspired Designs at New York Fashion Week. Among them are twin brothers Reuben and Lévi Uwi - who as children fled their homeland of Rwanda during the genocide. The Uwis call their collection "I Left My Heart in Africa". Newsday speaks to them about their hopes and inspirations.
