Western Balkans Summit to Open

German Chancellor Angela Merkel and the EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini are expected to join European leaders in Vienna for the second Western Balkans Summit. The focus of the event is European integration. But the migration crisis is likely to be at the top of the agenda.

A journalist and cameraman for US TV station WDBJ7 were attacked and shot dead during a live TV broadcast yesterday; their killer Vester Lee Flanagan has since died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

And a new laser system has been used to detect cancer cells during an operation to remove a brain tumour.
