Kenya Welcomes Obama
Obama calls for gay rights in Africa; A visit to Nairobi's slum school; Migrants drown
Before his trip to Kenya, President Obama speaks to the BBC about fighting terrorism, encouraging entrepreneurship and why women and gays deserve equal rights and protections.
Newsday's Nkem Ifejika is in Nairobi for the President's visit - and visits a school for girls in Kibera - described as the largest slum in Africa. It's a joint project funded by American and Kenyan donors.
Up to 40 people have drowned trying to cross the Mediterranean Sea from Libya to Europe.
